So many of you have written asking about the health of my Darling Wife, Thelmarie "Thel" Curtis.

 

To bring you up-to-date:  Thel had a heart attack in early November and was in the hospital for one week undergoing many tests on her heart, blood work and her enlarged thyroid, which has grown into a large goiter -- she was told that her thyroid was covered with tumors that are most likely malignant.

 

We received a good report recently -- her thyroid is NOT cancerous.  Thank God!! -- but, it MUST be removed as soon as possible.

 

She is still suffering daily with pain in her heart, weakness, and experiences difficulty in swallowing.  She has nearly choked to death on several occasions in the past few months.  These choking episodes are extremely traumatic to Thel and to me as well.  I feel so helpless and unable to help her.

 

PRAYER REQUESTS: We ask for your prayers in her behalf. We need several miracles immediately. 

 

(1)  We ask that you pray for her complete healing.  Whether God chooses to heal her or chooses to work through the doctors  -- either way is okay with us.

 

(2)  We need a couple of financial miracles. As you are aware, in America we must either have the cash to pay for our medical treatment or have medical insurance.  We have neither!

 

Thel's medical care has already added up to $30,000 and before the surgeon will operate to remove her thyroid, [which two doctors have said MUST be done soon] he is wanting us to pay at least half of the $10,000 the surgery and hospital stay will cost.  This $10,000 is over and above the $30,000 we already owe.

(3)  We need a car. We do not own a car and haven't had one for almost six years.  I must rent a car, if I have the funds to do so, every time I need to take her to the doctor, go to the store or run errands to take care of business.
 
We are reminded often of the verse in II Chronicles 20:12b -- just like Jehoshaphat, we cry, "Oh Lord, we do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon You."
 
So, you understand why I'm writing to you for prayer. We do not have the necessary funds to pay what we already owe, nor to pay the added amount for her surgery.  We live daily by faith.  Thel's condition is such that we have not been able to minister in months.
